PROCESSING THE FLOW #2

Traditionalists may prefer pen and paper, but there's a lot to be said for utilizing online tools and demoting that paper chase.

Storage for one, easy access - anywhere there's an Internet connection - is another. Then there's collaboration. Working and sharing potentially gets things done faster, you just need to ensure that the quality doesn't suffer!

In this, the second of two posts about processing the information flow, I'm considering online docs, calendars and "getting things done."

PROCESSING THE FLOW #1

Life in the digital age is full of information. The growth of online networking has resulted in a divergence of professional and personal data. Social media channels encourage us to share. Cloud technology provides us with access, storage and device synchronisation between desktop, tablet mobile, home and office.

One of my current projects is reviewing in-house information systems. Over the years I've monitored the digital/paper debate and tested numerous methods, applications and systems. It's a continuing journey!

I've summarized some of the concepts, applications and methods in this, the first of two posts, where I've looked at the paperless office, digital business cards, storage, synchronization and sharing.
